Paul Cuadros, journalist and author of A Home on the Field, wrote a column in the Chapel Hill News about our visit to the Orange Country Democratic Women’s Monthly meeting. At the time, Cuadros along with UNC Professor Hannah Gill was leading a discussion about the effect of immigration on North Carolina.

Cuadros writes:

“Watching the young women get up to deliver their message, I was struck by their commitment to their cause, but more so by their willingness to come forward and share their experiences and their dreams for a better life. One of the most glaring things missing from this debate is the voice of the migrants themselves or their kids.”

We are happy our three are part of this growing chorus of voices. Congress ought to listen–soon they will be impossible to ignore.
